Mixed Results in February Home Prices

Re/max of Indiana finds mixed results in the central Indiana housing market in February. Total property sales declined slightly from the same month in 2009. But the average price for a single family home rose to $137,391--up 13.2 percent over last year. And the median price--the point at which the homes sold for more and half for less--rose to $106,100, up 8.8 percent from February, 2009.  

It was the fourth straight monthly increase in home prices. Gribler says homeowners are responding to the new $6,500 dollar for those who sell their homes and buy new homes to replace them.
