It will be cheaper to attend the NASCAR Brickyard 400 next year. Officials at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway are cutting the prices for general admission tickets by ten dollars, dropping those to 30 bucks each. IMS spokesman Eric Powell says they have been planning to cut prices for a few months.
Children under 12 will get in free next year with a paid adult ticket. And reserved seats are also dropping in price for next year. Powell said the recession cut into this year's attendance, though IMS does not release attendance figures. Regardless, there were empty seats in nearly every section of the track, and in some cases entire rows with no fans.
