Township Deputy Trustee Charged With TheftA Township Deputy Trustee in Lawrence County is accused of theft. After a four month investigation, investigators with the Indiana State Police along with the Indiana State Board of Accounts determined that Shawswick Township Deputy Trustee April Eagon-Dorsett, 39 of Bedford, stole over $150,000 over a period of five years. Throughout the course of the investigation, State Police Detective Paul Suding learned that Eagon-Dorsett had been writing checks from the township account to herself and to her husband Randy Dorsett, for services that were never conducted. Eagon-Dorsett had allegedly been taking money from the Trustee's Office from 2005 through the early months of 2010. Eagon-Dorsett was charged and arrested with Theft, a C Felony. If convicted she could face up to 2 – 8 years in prison and upwards of $10,000 in fines.
